CONFLICT FREE DIAMONDS
Catbird prides itself on being sustainable since 2004! We work with over 95% recycled 14k gold & recycled diamonds. It is in our mission to ensure our customers can shine proudly, especially in Catbird’s conflict free diamonds.
What are conflict-free diamonds?
Conflict-free diamonds are a crucial part of ethical jewelry. Notably, our brilliant cut diamonds are 100% recycled. To ensure that every rose-cut diamond we use goes above the standards enforced by the Kimberley Process and is guaranteed conflict-free, we have long standing relationships with a select few of the most respected suppliers. We work with our suppliers to ensure as much transparency as possible around stone origins, and, vitally important but often overlooked: cutting facilities that are safe and continually audited by a third party.
Our Diamonds
Each of our ethical diamonds exist in three categories: recycled, conflict-free, and lab-grown. Recycled diamonds are given a new life in Catbird jewelry sourced exclusively from jewelry with a former life. This eliminates the most damaging environmental impacts of sourcing diamonds and puts the reuse in the three Rs of sustainability. Our rose cut diamonds, with their more subtle luster, are ethically sourced to surpass international standards. We only work with suppliers who have proven themselves over our longstanding partnership as honest and transparent about their processes, based on our formalized code of conduct. Finally, produced from a fine diamond slice, lab-grown diamonds are molecularly identical to diamonds.
Looking Ahead
Catbird has been committed to seeking out, and embracing more sustainable options since Day One. Reclaimed and sustainably grown lab diamonds are never of a lesser quality, and adhere to the same standards we apply to our mined sources. Our committed sustainability practices, including our early adoption of the use of recycled diamonds, and mission drive our jewelry production and we are proud of each piece we create.
