  1. What We Love Today: Snake Hand Bracelet

What We Love Today: Snake Hand Bracelet

I wore this brass Snake Hand Bracelet all weekend and I highly approve. It makes you feel kinda bad ass, even when you are dressed like a shlub and having a pretty unglamorous weekend. My neighbor took one look and exclaimed uncharacteristically "oh. em. gee.".

I took it off to cook, drive and sleep (it's not the kind of thing you would live in - unlike this puppy), but otherwise, I was feeling pretty pleased with the extra bit of cool it allowed me, as I trudged along in my standard uniform (jeans, clogs, shapeless sweater).

    Dream Date: Giorgia

The summer is slipping away, but black lace dresses and black fingernails, once-shiny shoes  and gold bangles know no seasons.

  5. How We Wear It : Earrings

How We Wear It : Earrings
I've always wanted multiple ear piercings and since I've known Ash I've envied her collection of mis-matched stacks of studs that always seem to make perfect sense. Here she is wearing three of my most favorite earrings, a Lauren Wolf Blue Sapphire Stud ($176), Nancy Kraskin Dot Earring in Yellow Gold, $80/set and Catbird Rose Gold Heart, $96/set.

    Everything old is new again.

Not even my steady diet of strawberry-rhubarb galettes from Saltie will keep my pale self away from the new old McCarren Pool this summer. I will take comfort in the assumption that my fellow dwellers of Williamsburg feast daily on the bevy of pastries our small town tempts with on every corner. If you're looking for me this summer, you'll find me sitting poolside, legs white as the moon, in a large amorphous sheer dress, nibbling on a donut from Peter Pan.

    Famous Lovers.

How do you solve a problem like Maria? Why, Captain Von Trapp, you fall madly in love with her, and present her with a ring that's blue like her eyes, blue like raindrops on roses, blue like satin sashes on girls in white dresses.

Lunch Lady: Surf's Up on Metropolitan!

Hey babe, it's Wednesday! Here's what I ate! The Balmy at Saltie is hands down the best take on a Bánh Mì that I have ever had. I paired it with the Lavender Shortbread Cookie (because it's shaped like a cute whale... duh) and the Turmeric Tonic (because I had no idea what that was) and everything was perfect :-) Last summer I took a little trip to Nantucket and have been pining for that weekend to repeat itself. Today, being at Saltie definitely brought me back...for the 10.5 seconds it took my sister and I to devour this delicious beast. This place is a foolproof lunch spot for summer!

p.s. if you're a native New Yorker don't try to pull off any surf lingo no matter how much you're enjoying your bitchin' lunch- you'll just sound like a Ninja Turtle and your co-workers will laugh at with you.
