What We Love
A one-of-a-kind ring, designed by Catbird using an antique intaglio from the collection of Vito Giallo — 94 year old artist, antiques dealer, and quintessential New Yorker.
Charles Demuth was a renowned watercolor artist; Vito found a painting by him at a junk shop for $7 and gave it to his dear friend Trudy. When Trudy fell on hard times, she sold the painting and it supported her for the rest of her life.
Made in our Brooklyn studio using 100% recycled 14k gold and pearls.
In honor of our collaboration with Vito, the Catbird Giving Fund is proud to have made a donation of $40,000 to SAGE, a national advocacy and services organization in their mission to look out for LGBTQ+ elders.
Please note, the gems from Vito’s trunk contain natural inclusions and imperfections which are consistent with their age and provenance. Each one was chosen by the Catbird team for their heritage and beauty.
