Evening Pouch, Silver

A pouch in silver and lined with the palest pink, that shimmers like a walk home (or elsewhere) in the early evening hours. Just large enough for a few small essentials (will fit a phone, the 21st century's most essential essential?). Handle gently and with care — each Evening Pouch is made by hand and will vary slightly.

The pouches are made by a group of ladies, of mixed ages and ethnicities currently most of them in India. My mom made all the original designs. I know this work provides them a lot of joy, pride and much needed income. These pouches are made of ‘kasab thread’ which is used in the traditional ‘Zari work’ — a dying craft in India. — Shehnaz Rangwala
